How We Help
In the field of special education and disability rights, the practice of law utilizes negotiation, mediation and/or due process proceedings. We apply these procedures in representing individuals, parents and their children at discussions and hearings with:

We strive to obtain appropriate services for you or your child through negotiation and mediation whenever possible. In fact, more than three-quarters of our cases are settled without the necessity of proceeding to a full hearing. However, when necessary, we proceed to due-process hearings or to the courts. We work with physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, counselors, social workers, speech and language therapists, physical and occupational therapists, school administrators and educators throughout the state. We are familiar with the variety of service providers and public and private care facilities in Connecticut and throughout the region. We strive to insure that your child is appropriately identified, using the necessary evaluations and diagnostic procedures. We work to educate and inform parents and guardians, while serving as advocates for the child's interests. We seek to help children receive the appropriate placement, services and/ or financial support to which they are entitled. |
